Open data recognises the importance of geospatial data as a value resource for the European Digital Economy, where the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive is helping to share this data across borders over a range of sectors.

To date, few technological approaches have allowed this data to be accessed and reused on the web or by mainstream ICT developers.

The ISA2 Programme’s ELISE Action has organised two webinars to share some of its practical solutions from the study, to make geospatial data more accessible for e-government applications.

This first webinar, was held on Tuesday 27th February from 14:00 till 15:00 CET .

It illustrated the findings of an analysis of ‘Data on the Web’ and Spatial Data on the Web’ Best Practice documents from the perspective of INSPIRE. It also demonstrated the ldproxy tool, which takes INSPIRE data services and shares the data via a modern Web API, where content can also be indexed by search engines.
