Description:

This is the version 1.2.0 of the Technical Interoperability Maturity Assessment of a Public Service (TIMAPS) survey.

This version of the TIMAPS survey has been released on the 30 November 2022 on Joinup.

It is a user-friendly online questionnaire, designed as a self-assessment tool to assist public service owners to evaluate key technical interoperability aspects of their digital public service.

The current version of TIMAPS (TIMAPS v1.2.0) is available at the EU survey portal

  • Recommendation 1 | Subsidiarity and proportionality

    TIMAPS is a self-assessment tool, designed for public service owners to evaluate key semantic technical interoperability aspects of their digital public service.

  • Recommendation 5 | Transparency

    Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Furthermore, question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services. Question C5 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services handle the integration with specific technologies and standards while consuming data, information and knowledge from other services.

  • Recommendation 6 | Reusability

    Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Question D2 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple open Machine to Machine (M2M) interfaces. Question D3 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple service delivery modes. Question D5 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services are able to invoke other services to deliver data, information and knowledge in a performance oriented way i.e. align data synchronization between different services. Furthermore, question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services.

  • Recommendation 14 | Inclusion and accessibility

    Question D7 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses the extent to which extend digital public services deliver data, information and knowledge in compliance with web accessibility specifications.

  • Recommendation 16 | Multilingualism

    Multilingualism in the context of computing indicates that a digital public service dynamically supports two or more languages. Question D8 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses the extent to which public services deliver multilingual data, information and knowledge. Furthermore, question C6 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services consume multilingual data, information and knowledge.

  • Recommendation 33 | Technical interoperability

    TIMAPS assesses the behavioural aspects of a digital public service, from the technical interoperability viewpoint. Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Question D2 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple open Machine to Machine (M2M) interfaces. Question D4 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services provide technical documentation on how to integrate the data, information and knowledge delivered with the data, information and knowledge from other services. Furthermore, question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services.

  • Recommendation 37 | Base registries

    Question D9 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services are made discoverable towards its end users or other services.

  • Recommendation 44 | Catalogues

    Question D9 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services are made discoverable towards its end users or other services. Furthermore, question C3 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services are able to discover services to consume data, information and knowledge.

    Question D6 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services provide data verification means for the data, information and knowledge delivered.
