This is the version 1.2.0 of the Technical Interoperability Maturity Assessment of a Public Service (TIMAPS) survey.
This version of the TIMAPS survey has been released on the 30 November 2022 on Joinup.
It is a user-friendly online questionnaire, designed as a self-assessment tool to assist public service owners to evaluate key technical interoperability aspects of their digital public service.
The current version of TIMAPS (TIMAPS v1.2.0) is available at the EU survey portal.
The release is composed of the following elements:
- TIMAPS v1.2.0 EU Survey portal; the TIMAPS survey is available at the EU Survey portal.
- TIMAPS v1.2.0 User Guide; a PDF document describing the user guide of TIMAPS including the TIMAPS model and the TIMAPS survey.
- TIMAPS v1.2.0 Publication on Joinup; the public web page describing TIMAPS version 1.2.0.
- TIMAPS v1.2.0 Value Proposition; a PDF document which provides the value proposition of TIMAPS v1.2.0
- TIMAPS v1.2.0 Release; an archive containing each of the above mentioned files.
The TIMAPS implements the following:
Principles
Interoperability layers
Conceptual model
TIMAPS implements the following EIF recommendations as explained below:
-
Recommendation 1 | Subsidiarity and proportionality
TIMAPS is a self-assessment tool, designed for public service owners to evaluate key semantic technical interoperability aspects of their digital public service.
-
Recommendation 5 | Transparency
Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Furthermore, question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services. Question C5 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services handle the integration with specific technologies and standards while consuming data, information and knowledge from other services.
-
Recommendation 6 | Reusability
Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Question D2 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple open Machine to Machine (M2M) interfaces. Question D3 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple service delivery modes. Question D5 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services are able to invoke other services to deliver data, information and knowledge in a performance oriented way i.e. align data synchronization between different services. Furthermore, question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services.
-
Recommendation 7 | Reusability
Furthermore, question C2 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services consume data, information and knowledge via multiple open Machine to Machine (M2M) interfaces.
-
Recommendation 8 | Technological neutrality and data portability
Question C1 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services facilitate the consumption of data, information and knowledge from other services. Question C5 of the Service Consumption section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses to which extend digital public services handle the integration with specific technologies and standards while consuming data, information and knowledge from other services.
-
Recommendation 9 | Technological neutrality and data portability
Question D1 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services facilitate the delivery of data, information and knowledge to other services. Question D2 of the Service Delivery section of the TIMAPS questionnaire assesses whether the digital public services deliver data, information and knowledge via multiple open Machine to Machine (M2M) interfaces.
