Rules as Code (RaC) is a transformative approach that reimagines how legal and policy frameworks are designed and implemented. It enables laws and regulations to be written in a format that can be interpreted by machines and directly integrated into digital tools, ensuring greater precision, transparency, and automation in public service delivery. This simplifies rule application and automates tasks such as eligibility verification or benefit calculations.
For example, a social rule translated into code could power an online simulator, allowing citizens to instantly determine their eligibility and entitlements. At its most ambitious level, Rules as Code envisions publishing official regulations as executable code, ensuring uniform and unambiguous application
