Release 1.30.0 of the Interoperability Test Bed software is now available.
This release brings multiple new features focusing on collaboration, conformance statement reporting and system configuration. A new messaging system allows users to communicate with each other within the Test Bed, complemented by test session comments for exchanges on specific tests and the possibility to override test results. Conformance statements benefit from new rich documentation options and a new consolidated documentation report covering all included tests.
Test Bed administrators are provided with new system settings managing aspects such as report naming, date formatting and timezone settings, as well as options to tune connections from extension services. Similarly, community administrators can leverage new user permissions and report settings, and can also define custom test session flags to implement community-specific workflows for test result evaluation.
Focusing on test capabilities, this release introduces a long-awaited REST alternative to the SOAP GITB service APIs, providing a fully equivalent means of integrating test services. In another important update, receiving messages from external messages now automatically deals with race conditions and supports the dynamic generation of responses, thus addressing two key limitations that used to be resolved through custom messaging extensions. Besides these key updates, user interactions in tests received multiple new features including HTML instruction messages, and dynamically adapted instructions and input controls based on session state and user input. Other testing updates include new flow control options, built-in capabilities for regular expression processing, text encoding and decoding, PDF validation, and more robust use of templates.
This new release is online in the Interoperability Test Bed service hosted by DIGIT but is also available for you to set up as a standalone instance. If a standalone instance best matches your needs, the following supporting resources are available:
