In the last years, the concept of making businesses (and public administration) more sustainable and innovative by leveraging new technologies has become an urgent necessity. Waste management, which encompasses all operations connected to the waste cycle, from production to collection and disposal or recovery, lends itself readily to the trial of this integrated approach. Even if waste management sectors have long embraced digitalization and bureaucratic simplification, the year 2023 may mark a time of major (and hoped-for) changes.
The objective of this document is to present the foreseen changes in waste management in Italy, their benefits for stakeholders, and possible applications.
