In the context of the Online INSPIRE Conference 2020, ELISE is organising a workshop titled "INSPIRE Reference Validator: Status & next steps" on the 9th of June 2020 at 09h. The workshop will be presenting the tool that allows INSPIRE data providers and stakeholders to check the compliance of their metadata, datasets and services against the requirements of the INSPIRE Technical Guidelines.
The INSPIRE Reference Validator,
Used since 2019 within the Monitoring process to calculate Member States’ compliance indicators, the Validator is a key tool to check INSPIRE implementation progress at the country and EU level.
The first part of the webinar will mainly address the users of the Validator, i.e. INSPIRE data providers and implementers. It will provide an introduction to the Validator to describe its software architecture and the current capabilities in terms of available Conformance Classes to test INSPIRE resources. The latest improvements of the Validator will then be presented, including the new release plan and the new User Interface which is currently under development and will be illustrated through a demo. Current and future work to maintain and improve the Validator, mainly about the release plan for Conformance Classes for Annex II/III Data Specifications, will be mentioned as well.
The second part of the webinar will target the developers and technical managers of national/regional in-stances of the Validator. First, it will include a demonstration on the deployment and operation of the Validator. This will be focused on the Docker distribution accompanying the releases of the Validator and will highlight how to quickly set up a local instance by downloading the pre-built version directly from the GitHub repository, and how to configure it according to the needs. Finally, a demonstration on the usage of the Validator and the interpretation of results will be given, focusing on the use of the service through the API and the possibility to automate bulk validations
