Artificial intelligence for digital-ready policymaking: streamlining interoperability assessments

On 21 November 2025, we found out how the European Commission is testing artificial intelligence (AI) to comply with the interoperability assessment requirement mandated by the Interoperable Europe Act!

From January 2025, interoperability assessments became obligatory. To comply with this requirement, the Commission introduced the Legislative Financial and Digital Statement (LFDS) and the Digital Statement (DS). These Statements serve as interoperability assessment report and are now being automated with the use of AI to alleviate the workload of policy officers and their supporting teams.

Watch the event’s recording here. Learn about functionalities of the AI4DRPM prototype from our colleague Davide Audrito. Below, you can find the presentation.

In this session you will:

  • Learn about the Legislative Financial and Digital Statement (LFDS) and Digital Statement (DS).

  • Gain insights from the AI4DRPM (artificial intelligence for digital-ready policymaking) project.

  • Discover the AI4DRPM prototype functionalities.

Please note that this session provides an overview of the tool and mainly focuses on its practical application rather than the technical aspects, such as its data model.
