On May 16th, a technical workshop on the ISA² Catalogue of Public Services project vis-à-vis the SDG implementation was held in Brussels. The workshop attracted over 50 participants from 28 countries including 23 EU member states.
Policy makers, IT practitioners and researchers came together to listen and share their ideas on the development of the Single Digital Gateway and the Catalogue of Public Services. Following an inspiration session from the ISA² action Catalogue of Services and DG GROW, the participants moved on to an ideation session in which they brainstormed on possible key IT activities to support the digitisation and the interoperability of the 21 procedures of the Single Digital Gateway. This exercise resulted in a value mapping of different ideas to be considered in the future.
In the afternoon, the participants were given the opportunity to take part in two break-out sessions, choosing between four different topics extremely relevant for public service provision. For each of the topics, an introduction pitch was given by one or more of the participants to provide further insights on the topic itself.
- Data validation: pitch by Raf Buyle on the OSLO² Validator and Suzanne Wigard on the ISA² Test Bed.
- Chatbots for public administrations: pitch by Deirdre Lee on the Irish chatbot solution.
- Taxonomy of public services: pitch by Denis Dechandon & Aniko Gerencser on building a taxonomy, maintenance, sharing, use and support.
- Catalogue of services through the use of APIs: pitch by Monica Posada on APIs in Public Administration.
