Cut Geometry - gvsig default tool

We need to clarify the way this tool works. To cut the geometry do we need to draw the line catching the bonding box of the geometry or it's enough with cathing only some parts of the geometry?

It would be nice that the line drawed to cut the geometry would use the "follow geometry" snapper.
