The European Parliament's Free Software User Group (Epfsug) is organising a workshop for all members of the European Parliament on the use of a free and open source operating system and all the applications that are freely available on it, on Thursday evening 30 July.

In a draft invitation to his colleagues at the European Parliament, MEP Indrek Tarand writes:  "On June 30 we meet in the European Parliament Free Software User Group (EPFSUG) again. We  have invited enthusiasts and experts of the LoCo team from Ubuntu Belgium to learn more about their projects and activities, and to have a look at Ubuntu's new desktop and netbook environment "Unity". We'll also look into how to secure email exchange with strong encryption and discuss the latest developments with regards to the ongoing procurement of Windows 7 in the EU institutions."
