Social Event 'Document Freedom Day' (DFD 2011)
Document Freedom Day (DFD) is a global day for document liberation. It will be a day of grassroots effort to educate the public about the importance of Open Document Formats and Open Standards in general.
DFD's main goals are:
• the promotion and adoption of free document formats;
• the formation of a global network;
• the coordination of activities that happen on the last Wednesday of March, Document Freedom Day.
On DFD 2011, local events are organised by local DFD teams, i.e. a group of people who want to be part of the DFD community and organise activities to promote free document formats.
The event is organised by the DFD Community and Free Software Foundation Europe.
