On the 22nd of January the German Federal Office for Information Technology (BIT) within the Federal Office of Administration (BVA) has launched its repository of data exchange components to the public.
With the new platform ?XRepository? the German library of Core Components and XML based standards is now available online.
XRepository is a central part of the German standardisation initiative "Deutschland Online". The main purpose of the programme is to foster interoperability in electronic communication. It collects and provides interoperability assets across all levels of government.
The interfaces for domain specific data can be represented with different levels of detail: by a full model, related XML schemas, code lists, format mappings, or project components.
Similar to the SEMIC.EU quality control, a three-step clearing process safeguards the quality of the published assets.
The new repository contains, among others, a milestone standard of the German standardisation initiative, XDOMEA 2.0. It defines schemas and models for IT-based exchanges and transfers of records among authorities.
A number of SEMIC.EU's partner projects participate in the initiative which is aimed at building a coherent and powerful data infrastructure in Europe's largest economy.
XRepository is the reference point for standardisation solutions in Germany and an important cooperation partner of SEMIC.EU.
