Simplify the model. Make it more practical by replacing some trivial entities with simple datatyped properties: dct:PeriodOfTime

For the record: Also a use case has been mentioned that supports dct:PeriodOfTime. Apparently there are cases in which a dataset doesn't cover a continous period op time. In those cases tdc:PeriodOfTime is needed to group start and end date.
