Description (short summary):
This study was commissioned to investigate the extent to which social exclusion and digital exclusion coincide; exploring the questions 'do people who suffer significant social disadvantage also suffer digital exclusion? And if so what are the key social drivers that contribute to digital exclusion?'
This project was led by the Oxford Internet Institute, in partnership with the Office for National Statistics and Office of Communications (Ofcom). A framework has been developed which was applied to surveys data from 2007 across the 3 partner organisations. The results of the survey is intended to help to inform digital inclusion policy and actions.
