The terms in this vocabulary are only relevant if the organisation is a European institution. In case of other types of organisations, national, regional or local vocabularies should be used.
Please note that this register includes also non-EU institutions - e.g., NATO, FAO, WHO, WTO.

It is true that the Corporate bodies table does not contain only EU-institutions/bodies, but also a small number of international organisations. These have been added because they were needed in the metadata used in the Publications Office's production and dissemination systems such as EUR-Lex.
It concerns mainly "major" international organisations for which translations exists in all official languages of the EU and for which we try to trace, just as for the other EU related concepts, the evolution of the concept and the associated labels over time.
I will change the text in section 8.2 to add reference to the small number of international organisations.
