NOTE: The CEF Digital Portal is the home of the CEF building blocks (eDelivery, eID, eInvoicing, eSignature and eTranslation). It is the one-stop-shop for information about the building blocks. The portal provides access to tools, services and software that can be used in any European project to facilitate the delivery of digital public services across borders.
Special announcement for eID users: starting with the eIDAS-node v1.1, eID will release all future versions of the eIDAS sample implementation on the CEF Digital Portal, issues with this and all future releases will be managed via the CEF Digital Portal.
Secure idenTity acrOss boRders linKed establishes a platform for interoperability of existing european eIDs. Many European countries already have some eID infrastructure, but cross border acceptance of these credentials is nearly absent. The project has studied legal requirements and establishes the organisational and IT bases for this cross border acceptance of these existing eIDs in existing foreign eGovernment services.
This platform allows European citizens to establish new e-relations with foreign governmental institutions, based on the fact that his own government guarantees that the data in his eID-token is correct and traceable to this citizen.
