ALDIL, the Lyon Association for the Open Source software development, is organising a conference, celebrating its ten year anniversary.
The conference program is not yet decided. However on the conference web site, the organisers promise a "retrospective of 10 years of free software that will help develop the future".
This year, the conference is hosted at the School of Engineering CPE Lyon. The programme is being developed, the organisation is planning two days of conferences, stands and an exhibition.
Aldil was founded in 1998. It aims to promote the use of Open Source software in all of its forms, running on either Open Source operating systems such as GNU/Linux, FreeBSD or proprietary ones like Apple Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows.
It is the main GULL (Group of Users of Open Source Software) in Lyon, bringin together the GNU/Linux and BSD users. According to its web site, Aldil is the largest group of users of Open Source software in the Lyon region.
