Decidim's own festival is back in October this year in Barcelona. Co-organised with the city council and supported by various public administration, this edition will focus on "Democracy, Technology and Collective Intelligence".
Asking the question of how Artificial intelligence is conceptualized as an abstract form of knowledge instead of a human originated process and challenging the assumptions that could cut off citizens from their right to discuss and question what this technology brings them, Decidim Fest just opened its call for proposals. In this conference, the Meta Decidim community will be exploring how open source and democratic initiatives can use AI as a tool to help develop transparency and open technologies for the common good.
This year call for proposal has two possible formats: Workshops (90 min) and Lightning Talk (10 min).
The following categories are proposed :
- Devs and hacking: Developments or customisations of Decidim.
- Research: Presentation of studies related to Decidim, citizen participation or the use of free open source technologies for democracy.
- Participatory design and methodologies: Innovative practices using Decidim.
- Data: Data analysis applied to Decidim.
- Design: Issues related to usability and participant experience in Decidim
- IA & Democracy: exploring potential uses and practices in Decidim, defining internal protocols to mitigate risks and promoting communitarian approaches to enhance collective intelligence.
We highly encourage you to take part and submit a proposal to this conference as Decidim keeps innovating and spreading open source around the globe!
