DebConf - this year in Brest, France - is a six day conference for Debian users & contributors.
Debian is a non-commercial project, managed by a community. They produce Debian GNU/Linux, which is among the most widely used free and open source software operating systems. The project also maintains a repository of applications that is both extensive and is known for having demanding review procedures.
DebCamp takes place in the week before DebConf, and is less structured and more social.
