The E-ARK SIP (Specification for Submission Information Packages) is the core specification for the eArchiving Initiative designed to normalize how data and metadata are packaged and sent to a digital archive. E-ARK specifications are maintained by the DILCIS Board.
In the context of digital preservation, E-ARK SIP is the "container" that a data producer (such as a government agency or a company) delivers to a compliant archive to ensure the information can be preserved for the long term.
This open source EUPL licensed library provides a command-line interface (CLI) and a .NET library to create E-ARK Submission Information Packages that can be submitted to an eArchiving conformant solution.
The source code is available at https://github.com/igfej-justica-gov-pt/dotnet-eark-sip. The solution component is also available as a NuGet package at https://www.nuget.org/packages/dotnet-eark-sip.
The library was created with funding from Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Program within the scope of the "Digital Archives of Justice" project, for the creation, maintenance, and digital preservation of historical data and collections of the judicial system.
