The UDP standard defines a protocol that allows a datagram mode in a packed-switched computer network. The standard assumes that the IP protocol is used as the underlying protocol. The standard specifies a procedure for application to send with minimum overhead of the protocol. Messages to another application to Message delivery is not guaranteed, UDP, if this is relevant should be made use of TCP.
