ISO 3166-1:2006 is a list of codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions. The standard specifies all countries of the world with unique two-letter (alpha-2) country codes, three-letter (alpha-3) and three-digit country codes (numeric-3) country codes. Example: Netherlands - NL - ENG - 528. The country codes are widely used both nationally and internationally. For example, the second column (two letters) used Internet top level domain - with the exception of the code of the United Kingdom, where as a top-level UK is used, and the United States, where mainly COM, NET,... ORG,. GOV. INT and. MIL used.
