The goal of the #VisionAI project is to bring together the European Networks of AI Centres of Excellence (NoEs), i.e. AI4Media, ELISE, HumanE-AI-NET, TAILOR, ELSA, euROBIN, ELIAS, dAIEDGE, and ENFIELD to create a world-class AI ecosystem that combines collective expertise and innovation. In fact, these Networks bring together the best research teams in Europe to tackle major scientific and technological challenges hampering the deployment of AI-based solutions.

One of the objectives of this project is to narrow the divide between Europe’s AI research and industry by strengthening synergies between academia and industrial stakeholders. Within this framework, (European) Digital Innovation Hubs ((E)DIHs) serve as an integral building block of the European ecosystem of excellence in AI. These hubs function as “one-stop-shops”, to help companies and Public Administrations strengthen their competitiveness by using digital technologies. They provide a crucial access point to the technical expertise and experimentation that are needed for a successful digital transformation. 

The Project Team has identified collaboration models between (E)DIHs and AI Centres of Excellence belonging to these Networks, emphasizing the potential benefits of such collaboration in supporting the technological transfer of research outputs to the industry, while working together on trainings, data and facilities sharing, AI regulation and standards, as well as the exchange of information on funding and collaborative programs.
