The OSOR team is happy to announce our first autumn event - a webinar on open source software and public procurement.
During previous events, many of you were interested in this topic. It is broad and there is a lot to discuss, so this event will focus on practical solutions to overcome common challenges and good practices for success.

We will have two guest speakers sharing their experiences:
- Jani Kylmäaho - Director of Development and Digitalization at National Land Survey (NLS) of Finland. As former project owner at OSKARI and current Director of Development and Digitalization at the NLS, Jani will share a series of good practices in procuring open source software. In particular, he will describe how to create an ecosystem of open source providers to successfully co-develop new open source solutions.
- Lucian Balea - R&D Program Director & Open Source Manager at Réseau Transport d’Electricité (RTE). Since 2019, RTE has been procuring open source solutions, and it has also published guidelines on how to include open source software in public procurement procedures. Lucian has been at the centre of the shift from using proprietary solutions towards adopting open source software, and he will share the success factors and lessons learnt.
Then, the floor is yours to share your experiences and good practices! Our two guest speakers and the OSOR Team will be ready to answer your questions and facilitate a discussion with community members.
The webinar will take place on Monday 12 October 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM CET.
