What is the OW2con?

OW2con is the annual conference of the OW2 open source community. OW2 is an independent, global, open-source software community, gathering numerous open source code developers. The mission of OW2 is to a) promote the development of open-source middleware, generic business applications, cloud computing platforms and b) foster a vibrant community and business ecosystem. The OW2 projects aim at facilitating the development, deployment and management of distributed applications with a focus on open source middleware and related development and management tools. In the open source software value chain, OW2 is positioned as an industry platform facilitating interaction between open source code Producers and open source code Consumers.

The central theme of OW2con this year is: "Keep the conversation going!". This background theme refers to the challenges appearing today for decision makers who consider evolving their information systems with open source software. As open source has become mainstream it is not limited to the operating systems and infrastructure middleware.

Event programme

The event programme will be available soon. Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, the event organisers have decided to replace the physical event by an online event, composed of a series of online presentations. All presentations will be recorded prior to the event and speakers will be available online for Q&A via a chat channel.

OSOR’s participation

On 17 June 2020, the OSOR team will present its work on open source policy country intelligence reports (available in OSOR’s Knowledge Centre) during the OW2’online20 event. More information to follow on the OSOR collection and on Twitter.
