The Paris Open Source Summit 2018, one of the main European conferences bringing together policy makers, government representatives, industry, developers and many others, will take place on 5 and 6 December. The European Commission's Open Source Observatory is actively involved in organising one of the round table discussions, which will include other European Commission projects related to open source:
The EC representatives will speak about the EU-FOSSA initiative aiming to improve the security of open source software in use at the EU institutions and present the renewed Commission Open Source Strategy. Experts from several Member States will look at the successes and shortcomings of their national open source policies from the different sectors perspective. This will be followed by a discussion facilitated by the Open Source Observatory, to bring out the essential elements of these policies and strategies, and agree on a common approach to increase their potential.
This session will take place on 5 December, from 14:00 to16:15 in Studio Photo at LES DOCKS DE PARIS – 50, av. du Président Wilson 93200 La Plaine St-Denis
