The Portuguese OpenSuse community and the Porto GNU/Linux user group hope the Encontro Nacional de OpenSuse (ENSO) will provide an opportunity for Portuguese users of the OpenSuse GNU/Linux distribution to get together, participate in development community events and get updated on the latest OpenSuse developments.

The annual conference is organised for the second time this year, in the city of Porto, Portugal.

The one-day conference takes place at the College of Engineering of Porto and will start at 10:00 am. The program lists four speakers, beginning with a presentation by Carlos Gonçalves, the coordinator of Portuguese wiki of OpenSuse, on what is new in Opensuse 11.0. Another speaker is Rui Nuno Capela, who will talk about production of audio/music on GNU/Linux. Capela is the main author of Qtractor, an Open Source application for editing sound files.

The conference also provides attendees with the option to get their GNU/Linux skills certified by the Linux Professional Institute (LPI). LPI is offering the GNU/Linux certifications through one of its partner training organisations. The test will take at most 90 minutes and will cost 70 euro. Those interested should contact the organisation no later than eight days in advance of the conference.
