Open World Forum - OWF 2011
This fourth OWF will be a platform for discussion and exchanging ideas and information about open digital systems, the future of the Internet and the central role that Open Source will play in its evolution. It will concentrate on three key areas; THINK, CODE and EXPERIMENT.
- THINK will focus on the fundamental issues at the heart of these questions, like Open Data, Internet neutrality, Cloud computing, Commons, Smart Nodes and the Internet of Things.
- CODE will bring together the best developers using the most dynamic Open Source software platforms (Java, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby etc) to share the latest technical advances and continue the process of collaborative innovation.
- EXPERIMENT will enable the general public to try out and assess both Open Source software and hardware, so they can find out more about the Internet of Things, ‘relearn’ the art of collective creation, meet ‘makers’ and ‘DIYers’, get a better understanding of natural interfaces and get much more from the Internet and Open Source.
OWF aims to bring together all the key decision-makers and stakeholders - analysts, directors, investors and politicians from every continent - to assess trends and the outlook for the future, as well as to pass on the very latest developments in open technologies to the widest possible audience.
Registration for the event is available online.
