The aim of the Free Open Source Academia Conference (Fossa) is to reaffirm the underlying values of open source software: innovation & research in software development. Fossa days are open to everyone, however registration is required.
This year Fossa conference will focus on open source at the cross roads of developement, research and industry. The program includes talks on education, on online community management, on innovation and on openness.
Moreover, a special easy-to-go live demo session is scheduled: any OSS fan can present its project!
The organisers says that the conference is the right place to discover new open source projects, trends and challenge, to network and meet open source leaders and to hear presentations on best practices and experiences.
This year the conference welcomes various well-known free and opensource software figures such as Simon Phipps (ForgeRock, OSI board), Francois Elie (Adullact président), Adrian Bowyer (RepRap OSS Printers), Roberto Di Cosmo (IRILL), Francois Bancilhon (Open Data initiative), Alexis Moussine-Pouchkine (Oracle, Angel or Deamon?), Nicolas De Loof (CloudBees), Philippe Scoffoni (Consultant) and Milo Casagrande (Ubuntu).
The conference is open to everyone, however registration is needed and the number of places is limited.
