Nelie Kroes, Vice President of the EC responsible for the Digital Agenda, spoke about standardisation, interoperability, and opening up public sector information at the OpenForum Europe Summit 2011

Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda, spoke at the OpenForum Europe Summit 2011 held in Brussels on 22nd September.

In her speech "Opening up Europe: from Common Standards to Open Data", Kroes talked about her ideas on interoperability and standards and highlighted the current achievements and future plans of the Commission on standardisation, interoperability and opening up public sector information. The Commissioner also mentioned the need for collaborating with the Member States to put in practice the principles of the ?European Interoperability Framework 2.0? and help Europe bring more and better interoperability to cross-border public services.
