MyUniversity-project, in line with its objectives, is launching its Super Portal, which is the next major step in Higher Education stakeholder participation.

The Super Portal provides the opportunity to Universities around the EU to participate in interesting dialogues regarding University life and education and be a part of national or European decision-making.

MyUniversity-project: Super Portal launched!”

It provides main point of access for Higher Education cross-border initiatives

MyUniversity-project launched its EU Super Portal a few days ago. Through this advanced platform, students and Universities from all over Europe have the unique opportunity to get involved in an encouraging environment that promotes dialogue and distinctive democratic processes like voting and discussing issues that are related to higher education and therefore are of great interest to the participants. Through this process, all registered users have the chance to share their opinions and provide feedback.

The Super Portal is the main point of access for users wishing to have the whole picture of the MyUniversity project. This advanced platform contains its own independent e-Participation tools, thus providing the much needed space for discussion of cross-border initiatives that pertain to higher education.

The Universities and university students who use the Super Portal, have the ability to choose from a variety of available participation tools and modules, like e-Consultation, Polls, Discussions and Processes. These tools are the means that allow registered users to assume a more active role in the higher education decision making process.

The first topics that are set for discussion are: “What is the added value of distance learning for students?” and “How to promote sustainability”. The topics that are to be launched in the upcoming weeks on the Super Portal include:

  • How to attract foreign students to a medium size University
  • What is the best way for Universities to find other financial resources in order to get better positions in their global ranking
  • How to attract more international students to less popular destinations
  • In which way may the quality of research activities help the University to raise the quality of the education

The Super Portal also provides links to the individual portals of the 14 Universities that participate in the trials, as well as news and social media links.

To be a part of this exciting process, please visit the Super Portal at www.e-myUniversity.eu and follow the instructions provided at the Login section. Universities interested in suggesting a topic they think might interest other students and institutions can contact CESCA, the Super Portal administrator at: myuniversity@cesca.cat

Launched on October 1st, 2010, MyUniversity is a two and a half year project that demonstrates how the universities can use an array of specific e-Participation tools for involving university members and stakeholders in transparent higher education decision-making processes at local, national and EU level. MyUniversity is currently supported by the European Commission (ICT Policy Support Programme) and involves partners from Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
