The Department for Public Works, Mobility and Heritage, Sustainable Mobility and Infrastructure Sector – Viability Management Unit – Operational Unit Intervention of the Municipality of Bologna has highlighted the need to have a single, accessible, simple and clear repository for planning the overall road works for the entire territory of the Municipality of Bologna, in digital form, in order to display in real time the routes and neighbourhoods in which the works are carried out.

The Digital Agenda and Information Technologies Sector of the Municipality of Bologna
responded to these needs by implementing an application capable of
overall management of the road works system. The application
identified is able to respond to the needs of the various stakeholders
involved in the process: Department for Public Works, Mobility and
Heritage Sector for Sustainable Mobility and Infrastructure of the Municipality of
Bologna: work planning activities and submission
requests to the companies involved – Third party bodies: firms applying for
approve the work and fill in the request Excel; — Office
Communication from the Municipality of Bologna: approved the request, can
proceed with communication of the site on institutional channels and
map the activity; — Citizens: ability to access
to the information, check the AS IS and TO BE status of the situation
yards and navigate the geographical map. The platform is therefore able to
managing various users: from stakeholders with activities
operative-management to those in view only. The solution
allows you to manage a geographical survey (one has been inserted
mapping neighbourhoods, sections of roads and roads to facilitate
navigability) of work in progress in the municipality, check
the process for approving requests for construction sites and managing a
planning of future interventions.
