Vitality index info
The vitality index indicates the degree of activity carried out in the last time period on each OSS Solution repository indexed in the Catalogue.
It reproduces exactly (in its definition and calculation) that envisaged by the guidelines on acquisition and reuse of software for Public Administrations defined by the Agency for Digital Italy - AGID, and currently officially implemented within the Developers.Italia OSS Solutions Catalogue.
This vitality index is calculated on the time window of the last 60 days (and updated once a week within this catalogue) taking into consideration the following four categories:
- Code activity: the number of commits and merges per day,
- Release history: the number of releases per day,
- User community: the number of unique authors,
- Longevity: the age of the project,
The ranges of each measurement can be found in the file vitality-ranges.yml.

Description
The service is set up for the * * government * * and the * * protection of the territory * *,
* * participatory planning * *, awareness raising * * and
* * citizen engagement * *. The Environmental Knowledge System is a
platform for exploiting alphanumeric and geographical knowledge
produced in the context of SIRA Piemonte (Environmental Information System)
Piedmont Region). It takes the form of a network of cooperation between
entities producing and/or holding information of environmental interest
(Region, Province and ARPA) and was born in order to support development
environmental knowledge for the activities of: Government and planning
investee; promoting the competitiveness of the territory;
empowerment; accessibility to
public information.
The system is aimed at different public and private users:
— Public administration (Region, Province, ARPA,...)
— Citizens
The data made available in the system shall be collected through:
multiple processes:
— Dematerialisation of administrative procedures;
— Monitoring systems (manual or automatic) state/pressure
environment
— Data collection on specific matrices (e.g. Observers Waste/Water...);
— Pressure/risk factors...
The system provides access to the consultation of data through:
free search and/or through access organised in thematic categories
(data catalogues such as the INSPIRE Directive Catalogue and the Information Catalogue
Environmental;
environmental Thematic Categories – Air, Clean-up, Authorised Enterprises in
field
environmental, waste, etc.).
For each data element, the following shall be made available:
— the summary description of the individual data/dataset and thematic view;
— the metadata sheet published on the geographic portal of the supplier and/or
data distributor (CSW service);
with specific consultation functions such as:
— simple consultation on the map of geographical data (WMS services)
— consultation of detailed dataset information based on
alphanumeric and/or geographical searches on data returning views of
reporting type and individual detail cards on objects (WFS services
complex feature type)
— categorisation of indicators: number of statistical classes, categorisation
colours, ranges of classes, type of statistical classification are user-configurable
(US WFS services).
— access to attachments via url to document archiving services
— the view report data – summary data/list of results of the
search – are user-configurable and exportable in csv and/or
ESRI shapefile;
— the detailed sheet is exportable in pdf format
All data made available on the platform are displayed and/or used
open Spatial Consortium (OGC) standard interoperability services such as
provided for in the INSPIRE Directive.
