New Collection: The Interoperable Europe Community

The month of May marked the launch of the Interoperable Europe Community on the Portal, a collaborative space designed to bring together public and private stakeholders to help shape seamless digital public services across Europe.

Foreseen by Article 16 of the Interoperable Europe Act, the Community is open to EU institutions, civil societies, public administrations, SMEs, tech providers, academia, and researchers. It serves as an umbrella community for all interoperability-related communities, promoting hands-on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual learning.

Explore the Collection to find out how you can actively contribute to EU-level interoperability by joining discussions and events, and participating to the Interoperable Europe Agenda’s public consultation. This is your chance to shape an ambitious and forward-looking EU Agenda.

X-Road

Highlighted Solution: X-Road

The EU Open Source Solutions Catalogue has recently integrated Avoinkoodi.fi, the Finnish national software catalogue. Among its Solutions is X-Road®, developed by the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS).

This open-source data exchange solution is already widely used across Finland, Estonia and Iceland and supports English, Estonian and Spanish. X-Road® is designed to enable and support unified data exchange between organisations while ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and interoperability across systems.

Visit the Solution’s page to find out more about how X-Road® works, its authorisation frameworks and monitoring and reporting capabilities, and how to join an X-Road® ecosystem.

Recent IOPEU Academy courses

Two new courses have been added to the 35+ already available in the Interoperable Europe Academy Collection: Introduction to Digital-Ready Policymaking for IT professionals and Introduction to eGovERA©.

Academy course 1

The first course equipes IT professionals, and anyone interested, with the foundational concepts and tools to contribute to Digital-ready Policymaking (DRPM). It delves into the principles and highlights key IT intervention points throughout the different stages of the policymaking cycle.

Academy course 2

The second course presents eGovERA©, a Solution developed by the European Commission based on the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) and the European Interoperability Reference Architecture (EIRA©). It supports policymakers, analysist and architects in understanding the specifications and standards involved in designing digital public services.
