Today, the Open Technology Foundation (OTF) listed Joinup’s collections  of interoperability solutions on its collaborative platform, OpenRay.org, giving visibility to these collections in Australia and New Zealand.

Openray.org is an open collaborative platform for the Australian and the New Zealand government sectors and is an initiative of the Open Technology Foundation (OTF). The OTF acts as a network organisation together with partners from the industry and organisations active in research in order to support governments in considering and adopting open and interoperable solutions and platforms.

Sharing and reusing interoperability solutions – such as open-source software, data models, and reference data – is a key enabler for governments to implement sustainable practices and deliver effective digital services.  Several federated platforms already exist and allow the flow of knowledge between different regions. This is the case of Joinup.eu for Europe, Openroad.vn for Vietnam and Openray.org for Australia. Those three platforms all aim at increasing knowledge and collaboration through the co-creation of technologies and digital assets and the co-production of industry and education assets. However, the next step is to achieve a “Global Sharing Programme” to increase sharing and communication between governments from different regions of the world. As a start for this initiative, Joinup.eu and Openray.org are exchanging their collections of interoperability solutions. These collections of interoperability solutions are described and exchanged using files that conform to the Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS).  Joinup's collections of reusable interoperability solutions can be found here and these of OpenRay can be searched here
