The highlights and presentations of the March 7 CESAR workshop have just been published on Joinup.
The Workshop of the Community of European Semantic Assets Repositories (CESAR) was held in Brussels on 7 March and consisted of two parts. In the first part, owners of Governmental semantic assets repositories presented their experiences with setting up an infrastructure for metadata management. The second part focused on experiences and future plans of a number of organisations with describing semantic assets using the Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS).
With approximately 50 attendees from all over Europe, 13 presentations and 15 presenters, this first workshop can certainly be called a success. During the workshop, it was announced that the W3C Government Linked Data (GLD) Working Group will adopt ADMS and the Core Person, Core Business and Core Location Vocabulary developed under the Action 1.1 of the ISA Programme. This means that by 2013, these specifications will either be published as official Notes or Recommendations by W3C.
