The interoperability Test Bed (ITB) is now included in the EU Open Source Solutions (OSS) Catalogue, the European repository of open source solutions of public administrations. In addition, ITB source code is also published on code.europa.eu, the code development platform for EU Institutions’ open source projects.

The EU Open Source Solutions Catalogue is an initiative driven by the European Commission’s DIGIT, to maintain a European repository of open source solutions provided by public administrations. It complements the software development efforts from both National administrations and EU Institutions, by providing a centralised platform through which open source solutions, covering diverse needs, can be discovered.
The EU OSS Catalogue does not host itself software packages, but rather federates each organisation’s source code repositories enabling centralised discovery while maintaining decentralised management. Solutions are searchable based on detailed metadata encoded by listed repositories using the publiccode.yml standard.

The catalogue’s is available through the Interoperable Europe Portal, where interested users may browse the catalogue and also find out information about its purpose and approach.
The Interoperability Test Bed published on the EU OSS Catalogue and code.europa.eu
The Interoperability Test Bed provides solutions for the conformance testing of IT systems and data validation that are built to support diverse testing needs. To enhance reuse, transparency and collaboration, the ITB’s code repositories are maintained as open source projects on GitHub since June 2018. GitHub, arguably the most popular hosting and collaboration platform for open source projects, is also used as one the ITB’s feedback channels for users to ask questions, report issues, and request new features.
Given the increasing number of open source solutions maintained by European Institutions, the European Commission in 2022 made available the code.europa.eu service, as an alternative to GitHub for the publishing of such open source software. As of August 2025, the ITB also uses code.europa.eu to publish its key open source software under the ITB organisation, notably including the repositories of the GITB Test Bed software, and its XML, RDF, JSON and CSV validators.

The ITB’s code.europa.eu repositories can be used to access ITB source code and to raise issues, however GitHub, for historical reasons, still remains the primary platform for user collaboration and feedback.
As part of the publishing to code.europa.eu, the ITB’s repositories were also updated to include publiccode.yml metadata, allowing them to be federated into the EU OSS Catalogue. As a result, the Catalogue features, as of August 2025, the GITB Test Bed software and validators, listed as reusable test management solutions.

With the ITB’s solutions included in the EU OSS Catalogue, potential users have an additional means of discovering and reusing the ITB, alongside other diverse open source solutions published by other European organisations.
