Digital eParticipation solutions for petitioning, consultation on matters of common interest and e-Voting
As stated by ISA2 Action "Participatory Knowledge for Supporting Decision Making", it is of the utmost importance to allow "public administrations to better address the expectations of their stakeholders" by reaching in particular their citizens "through e-participation and open knowledge sharing". Digital channels for petitioning, consultation on matters of common interest and creation of citizens' communities around such matters can effectively flank and support more traditional participation channels through their capacity of reaching a wider and dispersed audience. Furthermore, the access to the democratic life of geographically and physically disadvantaged persons can be fostered thanks to the use of e-Voting systems, that shall extend the area of participation by citizens to the politic and administrative matters both at European and Member States level.
