Big Data Testing Infrastructure (BDTI) is a project funded under the Digital Europe Programme with its main objective being to encourage the re-use of public sector data, information and tools within European public administrations. The BDTI provides these administrations with the chance to test and experiment with a variety of ready-to-use and open-source technologies. All local, regional, and national European public administrations are eligible to participate in the BDTI and they are all offered access for free, during six-month pilot period.

On the 4th of July 2023, an info session was hosted by living-in.EU regarding the Big Data Testing Infrastructure (BDTI). This session, presented by Athena Vassilopoulos and Maria Claudia Bodino from the DG Unit at the European Commission, introduced the initiative, highlighted the opportunities it offers to public authorities across the EU, showcased some successful use cases of pilot projects, and provided guidance to cities in the application process.
