The Data Catalogue Application Profile (DCAT-AP). The DCAT-AP provides a common specification for describing public sector datasets in Europe. Its basic use-case is to enable a cross-data portal search for data sets and make public sector data better searchable across borders and sectors.

The tooling for the data specification life cycle. Data specifications are vital to enable public administrations to exchange data and information across borders in an efficient and secure manner. They provide a common language for public administrations to communicate with each other, defining the structure and meaning of the data that is exchanged.
