Our digital-ready policymaking team promoting the digital-ready policymaking, invites you to deep dive into and learn more about technology and innovation.

On 7 November 2023, the FT-ETNO Tech & Politics forum will take place online and in-person, in Brussels, Belgium.

Europe stands at a pivotal crossroads. Faced with challenges like conflict, a sluggish economy, and evolving global alliances, the continent is reassessing its alignment with fellow Western powers and pursuing a more self-reliant regional strategy. This industrial shift, combined with Europe's leadership in shaping regulations on connectivity, AI, cybersecurity, data protection, and ESG, presents a significant opportunity for the domestic tech and telecom sectors.

Key questions arise:

  • How can Europe ensure the security of its citizens, businesses, and supply chains without resorting to protectionism?
  • Who should bear the responsibility for funding new and resilient networks?
  • How should Europe engage with and respond to US initiatives such as the IRA?
  • What insights can be gleaned from the Ukraine conflict?
  • And finally, should new technologies adhere to regional or global standards?
