The Interoperable Europe Board
The Interoperable Europe Board, established under the Interoperable Europe Act, plays a crucial role in fostering the seamless exchange of information between digital public services across EU Member States. Comprising high-level representatives from Member States and the European Commission, the Board is tasked with guiding strategic cooperation and overseeing the implementation of interoperability initiatives within the EU.
The Board’s Responsibilities
Based on a public consultation, the Board aims to develop the Interoperable Europe Agenda. This strategic document outlines the priorities for the development of cross-border interoperability in digital public services. The Agenda will contain, among other things, an assessment of needs for the development of interoperability solutions and a list of ongoing and planned Interoperable Europe support measures.

Access to the Board’s Work Documents
The Board provides access to its work documents through the Interoperable Europe Board space of the Portal.
Currently, two documents are available, which were produced following the first Board Meeting, which took place on December 5, 2024.
- The first document includes the rules of procedure of the Interoperable Europe Board. These rules include information, guidelines and rules on the Steering Board, future Board meetings, the Board’s work programme, meetings’ agendas, and more.
- The meeting minutes from the first Board meeting are also available, providing detailed records of discussions and decisions taken.
These documents, and the ones that will follow, serve as essential resources for policymakers, stakeholders, and digital governance experts interested in understanding and contributing to the evolution of digital interoperability within the EU. By sharing this material, the Board ensures transparency and fosters collaborations amongst interested parties.
