We are pleased to announce that the recently issued OSGeoLive15 includes an updated version of the Re3gistry

In the FOSS4G, an annual recurring global event organised by OSGeo, took place the presentation of the Re3gistry "Re3gistry: your open source interoperable tool to manage and share reference codes".

OSGeoLive 15 is a ready-to-use environment prepared by the OSGeo community where users can quickly test different geospatial software without caring about lengthy installation processes.

It is composed entirely of free software, allowing it to be freely distributed, duplicated and passed around. It provides pre-configured applications for various geospatial use cases, including storage, publishing, viewing, analysis and manipulation of data. It also contains sample datasets and documentation.

All OSGeoLive versions can be accessed and downloaded from its SourceForge repository. Two key elements are:

  • OSGeoLive: containing all the source code
  • OSGeoLive-doc: containing all the documentation included in the distribution.

The Registry's integration in OSGeoLive makes it part of the OSGeo community, which strengthens its quality through the use of common standards, fosters greater visibility to its projects with related events or as part of community programs such as the Google Summer of Code
