The web page now has 400 daily visitors compared to about 200 beforehand. This is shown in an inventory produced by the Danish Cancer Society (Kræftens Bekæmpelse, in Danish) for the National Board of Health (Sundhedsstyrelsen, in Danish).
Your Digital Stop Programme is one of several free services which launched the campaign to help people who want to quit smoking. It was developed through a collaboration between the Association of Danish Pharmacies (Danmarks Apotekerforening, in Danish), the Danish Cancer Society and the National Board of Health.
The first step in the programme is that the user creates their own profile. Based on this, the user can get help and exercises that are tailored to their personal situation. More help is available around the stopping date that the user sets for themselves. Ex-smokers can get help and support through the programme for up to one year after they have stopped.
Ex-smokers who continue to use nicotine products can also get help through the Your Digital Stop Programme. They can follow a special programme which provides support and exercises for people who want to end their nicotine consumption.
Background Information:
Your Digital Stop Programme is part of the smoking cessation campaign launched on 7 November 2011. This new campaign is a continuation of a campaign of 2009-10 which had very positive results. The joint organisers of the new campaign are the Ministry of Health (Ministeriet for Sundhed og Forebyggelse, in Danish) and the National Board of Health.
