The first public working drafts of the W3C Government Linked Data (GLD) Working Group are now published for comments. The GLD Working Group has the mission to “provide standards and other information which help governments around the world publish their data as effective and usable Linked Data using Semantic Web technologies” (http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/Main_Page).

The following documents are available for review:

• RDF People Vocabulary: Defines how to describe people's characteristics such as names or addresses and how to relate people to other things.
• DCAT Vocabulary: An RDF vocabulary designed to facilitate interoperability between data catalogs published on the Web.
• RDF Data Cube Vocabulary: A means to publish multi-dimensional data, such as statistics, on the web in such a way that it can be linked to related data sets and concepts.
• RDF Organizational Ontology: Describes core ontology for organizational structures, aimed at supporting linked-data publishing of organizational information across a number of domains.

In the near future, the GLD Working Group will publish the ADMS , Core Location, Core Business and Core Person Vocabularies, four outputs of the ISA Programme, as public working drafts.
