Jani Ruuskanen is leading the agile development of the new national Suomi.fi –portal for citizens, entrepreneurs and officials in Finland. Suomi.fi offers role-based single sign on access to all public services, access to user related data in public and private registers and secure messaging (digital post) between users and authorities. Public beta-version of the portal can be found in https://beta.suomi.fi

Suomi.fi services are produced in the National Architecture for Digital Services programme and they are mandatory to use by all public sector organizations in Finland.  Suomi.fi -services include national Suomi.fi - portal, e-identification, Finnish service catalogue, digital authorizations, messaging service and national data exchange layer (X-road Finland, joint development with Estonia). All services are being published as open source (https://github.com/vrk-kpa). More info can be found in https://esuomi.fi/?lang=en

Jani is in charge of usability, accessibility and user centric-design of all Suomi.fi -services. Jani is also working as an accessibility expert in Web Accessibility Directive Expert Group and in national accessibility legislation group. Since 1997 Jani has been working for State Treasury, Ministry of Justice and several private companies as a concept, graphic and UI designer and project manager.
