The second Working Group Draft of ADMS Conceptual Model and Controlled Vocabularies is now available for community review until Friday 25 November 2011.
The ISA Programme is pursuing the work on the Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS). Between October 2011 and April 2012, the ISA Programme will undertake a number of initiatives as part of Action 1.1, related to the management of Open Government Metadata. As one of these initiaves, the ADMS Working Group started one month ago. Its objective is to review, revise and finalise the ADMS v0.6a specification.
The Working Group is now pleased to announce that the first result of its activities, the proposed ADMS Conceptual Model and Controlled Vocabularies, has been released and presented to the Review Group. The Review Group consists of representatives from the Member States and was formed to help build consensus and reach agreement by all Member States. In early January, a final draft will be made available for a one-month public comment period. Comments received from the public will be taken into account in preparation of the final specification that will be submitted for endorsement by the ISA Coordination Group.
ADMS is a common format to describe metadata of semantic assets. The Member States will be encouraged to adopt this format as it allows exchanging information about semantic assets. Joinup will act as a central access point enabling users to discover semantic assets from different Member States more easily.
