The Greek city of Livadeia has moved to the LibreOffice suite of office productivity tools, replacing a proprietary alternative, the city administration announced in May. The switch is part of the city’s government modernisation, the town in central Greece said.
LibreOffice is implemented in combination with an unspecified document management system, the town writes in a press announcement.
Livadeia, a town with over 31,000 inhabitants, lists three more ICT improvements it has made. First, The city now offers citizens to follow council meetings live via the Internet. Second, it has renewed its website, based on the open source tools Apache and WordPress. Third, the city now offers an online form for citizens to file and track requests for information and report problems.
