OSOR is thrilled to announce its first event of the season focusing on the sustainability of public sector open source communities.

Join us on 18 May to hear from two speakers about their research on and experience with the use of open source across public administrations and especially on the challenges that public sector OSS communities face to sustain themselves.

	Koos Steenbergen is an Open Source Project Manager at the Department of the Interior at Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands. He advises his department on policy issues regarding open source and promoting the use and development of open source software government-wide.
	Johan Linåker is a researcher at Lund university, Sweden, with a focus on how to enable the public sector to share and collaborate on open source software and open data. Johan holds a passion for health and sustainability of open source software projects, researching challenges experienced by maintainers, their impact, and how they may be addressed.

You will also have a chance to gather useful tips on community sustainability and discuss your experience with colleagues from public sector and open source enthusiasts. The outcomes of this discussion will serve as input in updating OSOR’s Guidelines for Sustainable Open Source Communities in the Public Sector.
