The Open Source Observatory is pleased to invite you to an upcoming online workshop dedicated to exploring funding strategies for open source projects.
Funding is essential to the sustainability of open source projects - but what models exist and how can they can be applied in practice? What strategies might work for your project?
Join us on 30 June for a dynamic session to explore these questions through real examples and shared experiences from across the European open source ecosystem.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
-
Hear insights from open source initiatives in Europe and discuss diverse strategies for sustainable funding of open source projects;
-
Engage with peers from public administrations, tech agencies, and open source communities.
The conversation will be driven by a panel of practitioners who will share their concrete approaches, challenges and lessons learned in funding open source projects:
-
Mirko Swillus – Sovereign Tech Fund/Agency (Germany)
-
Nil Homedes – Decidim (Spain)
-
Joël Lambillotte – iMio (Belgium)
